West Pennine Moors Methodist Circuit

About Us

The West Pennine Moors Methodist Circuit comprises of 14 churches, a URC/Methodist LEP and 1 primary school, covering the main areas of Blackburn, Darwen, Haslingden, Accrington & Oswaldtwistle, These are former mill towns built on, or close to, the Pennine hills. They are surrounded by areas of outstanding natural beauty, including the Trough of Bowland, Pendle Hill and the Ribble Valley. The area we serve has a mixed population with ethnic minorities from Asia and Europe. There are good ecumenical links across the circuit, including support to the Asylum seekers and Refugee Community (ARC), based at Wesley Hall, Blackburn. The circuit is also actively involved in Hippings Methodist School, including the provision of a lay chaplain, employed by the circuit.
