Mellor
Mellor Methodist is set in the thriving little village of Mellor, on the outskirts of Blackburn. Originally founded in the 1700s, our church family now meets in a modern building enabling us to be very adaptable to different settings.
Although we are a small congregation, we have a big heart for others and enjoy a close relationship with our neighbouring church and local primary school. When we can, we work together on projects to spread the word through the school children, staff and community.
Pastoral care and sharing God's love with one another is an important part of our church life, undergirded by prayer for the church and community.
Our Sunday services start at 10.30am each week and are led by a range of local preachers as well as our own minister, Rev Stuart Smith. We have a small, yet growing and delightful Sunday School which meets monthly with ages ranging from toddlers through to primary school. Our young families are a joy to us, and we love the energy of the children as we have fun learning about Jesus together.
We have a music group that meets once a month on the first Monday at 7pm, simply to practice playing and singing praise and worship songs. Tuesday Fellowship is from 10.00am for an hour, with local speakers each week who share an encouraging message, and time available for refreshments and fellowship.
Coffee and Cake is also held monthly for all to come and have a slice of delicious home-made cake and time to chat with old and new friends over tea and coffee. Usually this is the last Saturday of the month from 10.30 am to 12 noon.
