West Pennine Moors Methodist Circuit

Rhyddings Methodist Church Rhyddings Methodist Church is a welcoming, family orientated church in the heart of   Oswaldtwistle.  As a church we seek to bring the Good News of Jesus Christ to all   and  to serve the community of Oswaldtwistle in the name of Jesus.

Behind our traditional façade you will find a recently refurbished flexible worship   space with good quality audio-visual technology.  Sunday morning worship is at   10:30am and if you come into the church on a Sunday morning, or at any other time, you will find a warm welcome.   As with any Methodist Church the variety of Ministers and Local Preachers leading our services brings different styles of worship and theological variety and balance.  There is also a small but thriving Junior Church for our younger members and monthly All Age Worship.  Rhyddings is a very caring pastoral church where we place a high priority on looking after each other.

On a Monday afternoon at 2pm there is a Bible Study led by one of our Circuit Local Preachers to which all are welcome.

Each Thursday morning, we have Holy Communion Service and occasionally an Agape service, led by our own Minister in rotation with other Circuit Staff members and Supernumerary Presbyters.  It is a wonderful time of fellowship.  Just as Christ becomes really present to us in the breaking of the bread so we draw closer to one another as members of the same body united in Christ.

We also make weekly faith provision for the children and youth of our community.

Girl’s Brigade meets on a Monday evening from 6:30pm providing a variety of activities for girls aged 4 to 19.  More information about Girls Brigade can be found at www.girlsbrigadeministries.org.uk

1st Oswaldtwistle Boys Brigade meets on a Tuesday evening during term time, for boys from year 1 through to 18yrs.   We offer a programme of activities, residential weekends, days out, competitions at Battalion & District level.   Our Company currently has vacancies across all sections.  More information about Boys' Brigade can be found at www.boys-brigade.org.uk or by contacting Carl Fairclough, Company Captain.  Click here to email Carl.

We serve our community in various ways:

Each Monday from 1pm to 4pm we host the Oswaldtwistle Churches Together Food Bank, helping those who are in real need.

On Tuesday mornings we have Coffee and Chat (tea served too) from 10am which is open to all and which includes our Credit Union.  Once a month we host a Community Lunch on a Tuesday
